My Sudanese friend Paul told me that Barack is no more Swahili than the names Hussein or Obama are. He’s a huge Bush supporter, since, as he says, Bush has sent more money to Africa and done more to help his native country of Sudan than any other US President. Take that for what it’s worth.
He speaks both Swahili and Arabic fluently so when I see him again, I’ll ask him.

In Kiswahili, BLESSING is BARAKA.
The name Barack is Arabic …if it was Swahili it would be Baraka. Although it should be noted that many words in Hebrew, Arabic and Swahili have common roots.
However, the name Barack is not Swahili.

The 90’s Government Shutdowns happened because the Republicans led by Newt Gingrich would NOT send the President a budget that was NOT balanced.
Clinton would not sign ANY budget that WOULD cut government programs. So there was a stalemate. The current budget expired and no new budget was passed – thus all non-essential government functions were suspended and the govt was shut down. After almost a year of fighting, enough Dems voted AGAINST their party, Bill’s veto was overruled, & he signed.

Clinton DID NOT CREATE OR EVEN SUPPORT THE SURPLUSES. He vetoed the balanced budget amendment 3 times, said essential programs would be cut, and that balancing the budget would hurt people & RUIN the economy.
Clinton gave speaches talking about how we run deficits with our grocery stores & it’s good.
Balancing the budget was the key plank of the Republican Contract w America in 1994. Dems OPPOSED the idea.

Though Bush has much to be desired, and a disappointment, Obama will lead this country to perdition. He refuses to get into the specifics concerning what he’d do as presidient. No straight answer. To think that he attends a “church” that doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but reveres the islamic leader of America with a huge portrait in the “church?” A communist flag in one of his headquarters, and he refuses to do anything about it? So was Hitler charming and a eloquent speaker, but a disaster!!
