Your right i did however i live in springfield illinois and couldnt get to watch his speech because i was white. I tried getting in there and was told that i couldnt so i stood around and watched them allow 4 african american families threw. I work and live here in springfield and there where more out of towners there allowed than actual residents.

The significance of Springfield Illinois is that is the home of Abraham Lincoln. Obama is standing in front of the Sangamon County Court house where Lincoln used to practice law. It is also the place whee Lincoln announced his candidacy for president.

No it isn’t. Even the NY Times, in an article titled, “A landslide election? No, but a clear win, for a change” had this to say about Obama’s win: “”It was not a blowout and not a really close election,” he said. “We got a little bit used to these close elections. Until 2005, we were legitimately talking about a 50-50 nation, where everything was close.”Obama’s victory was more along the lines of Bill Clinton’s in 1992, when he won 370 electoral votes to the first President George Bush’s 168.”

I live in Illinois and if it is so truthful and full of integrity, then why did we elect (twice, unfortunately) Blagoevich? He is a crook and a product of the Chicago political machine, just like Obama. Wait and see on Obama, he will surely let us down.

A landslide is determined by how big of a margin one wins by. Obama received 52.9% of the vote winning by only a 7.3% margin. That is not a landslide by any stretch of the imagination. Ronald Reagan received 58.8% of the vote on his second election winning by an 18.2% margin. Electoral votes considered, Reagan got 525 out of 538 electoral votes and carried ALL states but one. THAT is a landslide, my friend.

He got ALL of those who voted for him…. if he got them, then they voted for him. 365 to 173 may not be as extreme as the reagan election, but it is most definitely a landslide, and i think you’ll find that the popular vote margin is pretty close in the two elections.

Ha. Look at Reagan’s elections. Those were landslides. Obama may have gotten many more electoral votes, but the fact remains that he barely got over half of those who voted for him.
