Dalai Lama is not only a spiritual leader but a politician as well as the Vadigan in history trying to control all the Christian countries.
I guess when he becomes a pure spiritual leader without involving politics fighting, everybody will love to meet him.
By the way, Lama was the real king of the country for hundreds of years, but the majority was suffering of the poverty except few nobles were living in luxery life. Now people have far more better life than before(I saw myself).
