Former First Lady Laura Bush says that it's okay for President Obama to address schoolchildren via a back-to-school speech. "I think there is a place for the President of the United States to talk to schoolchildren and encourage schoolchildren," but that parents had "the right" to not let their children hear his speech. Also, she didn't think it is fair for Obama to be called a socialist by foes – just as her own husband was the brunt of criticism under his watch. "We're polarizing a lot of people," she says. "I think it's just what happens." She also comments that President Obama is "doing a good job," and his wife Michelle is "doing great." Finally, she says that former Vice President Dick Cheney "has every right to speak out, and I appreciate that he's defending the Bush administration. I think that's important. I think there's a place for that."

Bush might have ran as a moderate but he definitely did not end as one (in my opinion). I think it’s crazy how if you criticized Bush you were labeled as non-patriotic. If you criticize Obama you are a racist…it is craziness.
